The evolution of Paris-aligned fixed income investing

In January 2021, Tabula was the first ETF issuer to launch a Paris-aligned fixed income ETF. The Tabula EUR IG Bond Paris-aligned Climate UCITS ETF (TABC GY / COOL IM) meets the requirements of SFDR Article 9 and has grown to ~€215 million in assets.

As leaders in sustainable fixed income investing, we are continually looking to improve our approach. Most recently we have worked with Solactive and ISS ESG to include additional index customisations and enhancements which screen for negative business activities.

Full Scope 3 emissions integration

At launch, the Paris-aligned index which TABC aims to track included a first generation approach to Scope 3 emissions for the energy and mining sectors only.

Now the index includes Scope 3 emissions for all sectors, using an enhanced methodology. For companies not reporting Scope 3 emissions, the team at ISS ESG uses a proprietary process to model emissions.
